Abstract
The septum-type transition couples energy with very low loss over a broad bandwidth from waveguide into a CPW circuit. This transition is virtually lossless with a bandwidth greater than 50%. It provides a single-piece, rugged, easily reproduced module that can be inexpensively produced. The multiple-septa design showed lower insertion loss over around a 4% bandwidth.
