Abstract

The paper gives an overview of the current European emission specifications. They are not limited to radio frequency (RF) emissions, but deal with power frequency emissions-harmonics and voltage fluctuations-as well. RF emission specifications listed in the official journal of the European Communities follow generally the internationally accepted CISPR standards. Also related to a CISPR standard are specifications for the RF emissions of motor vehicles in the updated Directive 72/245/EEC. Specifications for medical electrical apparatus are not dealt with in this paper. An overview is also given of future developments of European emission specifications
