  • Abstract
A remote control robot by which a bedridden person can obtain the feeling of going out is proposed. The robot is controlled by a radio wave controller, and equipped with a CCD camera, a microphone, and a speaker etc. The picture of a CCD camera is transmitted to a receiver of a TV set. A user can send the robot to the outside by watching the CRT display. Then, a user can watch the outside scene, and can talk to a person using a microphone and speaker. The operation of the remote control robot is very difficult. Therefore, an automatic avoidance control system of an obstacle is designed. This paper describes the concept and design of the going out experience robot. The validity of the robot system has been confirmed by the experimental results
