Abstract :
A BOR-SPR antenna is a wideband antenna. This paper presents a modified BOR-SPR antenna, which has the same configuration as the BOR-SPR, except that slots are cut into a conducting parasitic ring (SPR) surrounding a conducting body of revolution (BOR). It is found that the slots generate a stop band in the frequency response of the VSWR, where the center frequency of the stop band is sensitive to the length of the slots. It is also found that the slots do not noticeably affect the inherent radiation pattern of the BOR-SPR outside the stop band.
