Abstract :
Wireless networks nowadays demand for high speed, mobility and capacity due to the advance of computer technology. The integration of wireless and optical fiber technology is capable to support these requirements. This paper presents the analysis of the adoption of fiber with GPON architecture into the wireless network which is feasible to be developed into a building. We measure the performance of IEEE 802.11 throughput at the MAC layer when Basic Access Method and RTS/CTS Method was used. The throughput performances are identical for all fiber length; which ~4.0 Mbps for Basic Access and ~3.9 Mbps for RTS/CTS method.
