  • Abstract
    FQPSK modulation with the redefined waveforms has a small envelope fluctuation, a better BER performance in AWGN channel and a not much worse power spectral efficiency than the original FQPSK. The general performance much depends on the last procedure searching for the Bezier curve control points. This new method of designing waveforms can be generalized, and a series of sets of FQPSK waveforms will be generated. Modifications can be made to the preprocessing and the regulation of control points to achive smoothness of higher order. Even some other kind of splines can be used, for example B-spline, to achieve the smoothness. These issues need more research.
