Abstract :
A 3-D audio synthesis technique is introduced using a multi-loudspeaker array (MLA) that embeds a novel pair-wise loudspeaker and crosstalk cancellation algorithm. The directional clues inherent in a MLA are enhanced with head related transfer function (HRTF) derived information to create a more robust sonic illusion. A range of loudspeaker subtended angles and configurations are investigated to ascertain the optimum loudspeaker locations
