Abstract
Today, the growing number of web services is phenomenal and will become a major opportunity for the industry in the next few years. Service providers have the potential to produce similar services with different costs and QoS. Consumers likewise want to choose what services best fit their needs. Several methods such as Lattices, SWS challenge and Pathak et al have been proposed to solve the problem of duplicate services by using current specification or enhancing existing ones to support semantic annotation. In this paper, we introduce a novel semantic web service transformation method by using a semantic knowledge base transformation engine with a pre-defined common ontology, Lattices foundation and SAWSDL to augment the registered web services with semantic annotation. The common knowledge base concept will be introduced to transform the functional web services into a semantic web service.
