Abstract
To solve the voltage regulation difficulty of the permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), a hybrid excitation synchronous machine(HESM) and the radial structure HESM of magnetic shunting type are proposed, and with the help of the magnetic shunting, the air-gap magnetic field of the HESM is regulated. The paper describes machinepsilas structure and principle, and discusses the concepts of the magnetic shunting point(MSP), the magnetic non-shunting point(MNSP). Then, using the magnetic circuit calculation method and the two-dimensional finite-element method (FEM), this paper analyzes the MSP, MNSP, and no-load characteristic when the axis direction length varies. The experiments shows that the axis direction length changes of radial structure HESM of magnetic shunting type may influence no-load characteristic.
