Abstract :
An improved delta modulation (IDM) controller for pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter is presented in this paper. The proposed IDM use the input reference signal to generate the variable integrating slope for the integrator in order to obtain better control ability. The proposed IDM can increase the modulation gain of the fundamental component, reduce the total harmonic distortion, expand the duty ratio variation range, and achieve fast response. In this paper, operation principle of the proposed IDM as well as the derivation of mathematical equations will be presented. Then, computer simulations with different operation conditions will be used to verify the validity of the proposed IDM with different. Finally, hardware measurement results will be presented to confirm the performance of the proposed IDM.
