Abstract :
The important EMI problems during electrostatic discharge and radiated susceptibility tests on some of the most sensitive subsystems of an airborne vehicle are highlighted. At the same time the authors explain the EMI hardening techniques adopted to achieve EMC especially in the case where the subsystems are required to be cleared for a high field strength of 200v/m. This paper also brings out the essentiality of improved grounding and shielding during the design stage itself. The authors also explain the process of assessing, probing and hardening to solve EMI problems encountered during the design and developmental stage
