Abstract :
Finite scanning plane truncation is one of the main error sources to influence the precision of planar near-field antenna measurements, especially for the measurements on beam scanning phased array antennas. With the application of the cosine window function, a novel data-processing method is presented so as to reduce the truncation errors caused by finite scanning plane in planar near-field measurements on phased array antennas. The results of computer simulation show that the truncation errors can be effectively reduced by the data-processing method of dealing with the near-field data by means of cosine window function, which proves the correctness and validity of the near-field data processing method presented in this paper.
