Abstract :
In this paper, we have presented novel thin frequency selective surface (FSS) superstate - as an alternative to the conventional FSS superstate which is thicker - for dual-band directivity enhancement, and demonstrated that the directivity of the fabricated antenna with a 20 times 10 FSS superstate increases to 19.67 and 21.38 dBi, respectively, at the two frequency bands of interest, and that these figures compare very favorably to that of the antenna only case, which is ~6 dBi
