Abstract :
The problem of cooperating processes accessing a shared database is investigated. This combined case is of particular importance for real-time applications. Various scenarios and models for cooperating transactions are suggested. In particular, a study was made of the cases of several transactions included within a conversation and several conversations included within a transaction. Some implementation issues such as the use of a database system with conventional and nested transactions are discussed
