Abstract
In this paper, a stator reference flux based method is proposed to control both speed and torque of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) under different load conditions. Direct Torque Control method (DTC) based on Space Vector Modulation (SVM) is used for IPMSM speed control. A conventional PI controller is adopted to control the stator flux and torque in the proposed method. Furthermore, a fuzzy block is provided to improve the dynamic performance of DTC technique. This method improves the torque profile of the motor drive in comparison to the conventional reference flux controllers. Moreover, the efficiency is improved by reducing copper loss using the proposed method. Simulation results for a 240 V, 120 A, 2500 rpm, IPMSM confirm the appropriate performance of the method.
