Abstract :
This paper presents the findings of an integrated study on geological disasters in Anji County. Based on field work and inventory data, the spatial and temporal distribution is discussed. The Digital Elevation Model, selected rainfall data are also used to analyze the correlation of geological disasters and their probable causes. Based on this, possible places of geological disasters are predicted. The results show that: (1) rainfall is the main cause of geological disasters, so it is very important to perfect rain gauging networks, which is significant for future disasters forecasting; (2) the main geological disasters are landslides and rock avalanches. So vegetation protection is essential. This paper probes into the comprehensive study of the mechanism and prediction of geological disasters. The results can provide supports for territory resources management and living environment protection in the changing environment. They also provide insights on the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
