Geographic information sharing based on metadata directory service

The integration of heterogeneous multi-source geospatial information always has been the research focus of geographic information sharing. As an efficient tool to describe, discover and retrieve the information source, metadata is the key technology the implement the integration and sharing of information sources. Metadata directory service is to describe various information use metadata as the basic directory. The publishing, discovery, abstain, access and management of information would be realized by register various metadata information of information resource to directory service. So as to gets the purpose of information sharing. On research of the expression, collection and storage of metadata, the organization of services oriented directory information was explored, the metadata directory service model was realized. Through the organic combination of metadata and directory service, the information resource which was distributed physically can be shared logically.
