Abstract
Risk assessment is significant for prevention and resilience of drought disaster. In the process of assessment, different spatial scales must have different focuses, and the method should be different. This paper uses the method that combines the national scale and regional scale risk assessment to monitor and analyze Chinese drought disaster risk in winter of 2010. The work flow is: firstly, the national drought risk model is used to evaluate national drought risk; next, we can choose AOI (Area of Interest) from the result, with analysis of the characteristics of the high risk regions, the regional model can be used for regional assessment of these regions. The result is mostly consistent with the actual situation. It is shown that the method can identify the high risk areas quickly and accurately, and improve the disaster assessment efficiency for relative department.
