Abstract :
A new tracking test based on IEC 587 inclined-plane test has been evolved which reduces both variability and test time. Various factors have been identified which contribute to the variability achieved in a standard test. The new test utilises computer control to maintain the surface dissipated energy at the optimum degradation level for all material types
