In this tutorial, the author discusses the designs of various band-gap references, with an emphasis on technical problems that caused serious troubles. Practical solutions are shown for problems, and a methodology is shown for solving problems. Particular attention is given to layout problems, start-up circuit problems, oscillations, DC output voltage errors, tempco errors, and computer modeling problems
