Abstract :
As an effective technique for combating multipath fading and for high data rate transmission over wireless channels, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is extensively used in wireless local area network (WLAN) systems to support high performance bandwidth-efficient multimedia services. The efficient implementation of several tasks at the receiver becomes crucial in OFDM-based high-speed WLAN systems, such as channel estimation and channel updating. This paper deals with the problems of the operation constraints due to fixed point devices and the accuracy requirements for implementation of these algorithms. The implementation of an effective channel estimation and channel updating procedure is proposed.
