Abstract :
In this paper we propose a novel diagnostic technique to study the biological degradation of the mosaics in the Villa del Casale, Piazza Armerina (Italy). Starting from an analysis of the presence of biological material affecting the mosaics we want to prove the possibility of detecting its presence under the mosaics without removing the tesserae.
