Abstract :
Metallized fabric and their allied products are recent developments in the field of EMI/RFI shielding. These materials give almost constant reflections. The various possibilities of interaction of metallized fabric with electromagnetic radiation are discussed. It emerges from the discussion that the assumption of a metallized fabric as a thin conducting barrier with a layered structure explains the experimental observations in the best possible manner. A significant contribution by waveguide absorption shielding may also be obtained from a metallized fabric by proper fabric selection and process control
