Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks have many applicable areas including environmental monitoring, medical care, and military surveillance. Energy awareness is an essential issue of data dissemination while designing routing protocols on these networks. Implementations of routing protocols based on optimization methods present energy efficient solutions. In this paper, we utilized the feature of simple and fast search mechanism of Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm to optimize energy consumption of clustering based routing protocols. A WSN routing implementation of DE is proposed and its performance is compared with the performance of other DE implementations.
