Abstract :
In this paper, a new voltage free electronic ballast is introduced. The voltage free electronic ballast is a one converter concept circuit; consist of a neutral-point type buck-boost/boost converter and an inverter. The switching device in the converter are shared with the inverter circuit. It is confirmed by experiments that the proposed electronic ballast can operate both with 200 and 100 voltage input.
