Abstract
With the development of Voronoi theory and algorithm, more and more attention was paid in the application of Voronoi in Cartography. In this paper, Voronoi Diagram and its applications were briefly introduced at first. Then the author focused on its applications in Cartography from the identification and extraction of map information, map generalization, automatic name placement and other aspects. Finally, problems encountered in the applications and the directions of its future development were given.
