Abstract
Channel repacking, the rearrangement of channels once a subscriber leaves a cellular mobile communication system, is one of many ways of increasing the capacity of the system. A channel repacking algorithm is proposed and implemented on a Hopfield neural network. Results based on simulations from two different cellular systems indicate that there is an improvement in capacity when channel repacking is exercised
