Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce a new ultra-thin microwave absorber made by a proper array of split-ring resonators (SRRs). And we propose that while using vertical split-rings cells to replace the single split-rings cells, the polarization dependence can be avoided and the absorption can be extended to the case of oblique incidence. Furthermore, we studied how to get multi-band absorber or expand the resonant band-width with multi-size cells. The full wave simulation results well validate the feasibilities using the commercial software Ansoft HFSS, based on the FEM.
