Abstract
Recently more attention has been paid to the high- speed generator for its many merits, such as high power density (small size), high efficiency, etc]. These high-speed operation impose stringent engineering design constrains not previously considered. Also axial flux permanent magnet machines have been used increasingly with use of high-energy magnets for various applications. They have several unique features such as high efficiency, high power density, etc [1]. The leakage consideration in modeling of high speed axial flux generators (HSAFG) is introduced in this paper. The improved model with FEM approval is presented.
