Abstract
An approach to establish 3D strata model from DEM, borehole, section map, geological map, is presented. In the first step, cross-section is converted into virtual boreholes by discretization processing, and therefore modeling data source is unified to borehole data. The second step is to define the template TIN using boreholes and border of research area, and adjust the template TIN using DEM and boreholes. Then the adjusted TIN is treated as the surface of strata model. The third step is to construct 3D model of broken units on ground with its contour and thickness, and then the broken units inlay the strata model through Boolean operation. The last step is to establish new cross-section by cutting the strata model, and the new cross-section is redefined. The fast update of strata model can be realized with the new redefined cross-section.
