Abstract
A behavioral model for microwave mixers operating in linear regime, which is extracted from large-signal vectorial measurement, is introduced herein. This is capable of predicting the performance of the converted signals and the main mixing products as well as the LO leakage at both the two signal ports. The mixer performance is provided as a function of a set of a priori defined LO levels and predicts the response with respect to an arbitrary LO phase. This paper gives a detailed analytical treatment of the model and its experimental validation by using a hybrid technology sub-harmonic mixer operating at IF=650 MHz and RF=5.2 GHz
