Abstract
Network object, interface object, logic object and virtual object registry are the building blocks for distributed object technologies (DOT). Their common goal is to provide a consistent user interface to access heterogeneous network data in a collaborative computing environment. The paper introduces the basic architecture for different components of the DOT and addresses future challenges
