Abstract
The possibility is shown to achieve a population inversion in the system of Landau levels in cascade quantum well structures in a magnetic field under a condition of sequential resonant tunneling. The mechanism allows the wide range tuning of the emitted terahertz frequency by the magnetic field strength variation.
