Abstract :
This paper deals with the reliable design problem for linear systems with sensor failures. A more practical model of sensor failures than outage is considered. Procedures for designing reliable controllers are presented for the case of sensor failures that can be modelled by a scaling factor and a bias. The resulting control systems are reliable in that they provide guaranteed asymptotic stability and H performance when all control components are operational as well as when some sensors experience failures. A reliable controller design method is also given by using duplicated sensors
