Abstract :
This paper presents a high voltage primary standard method using a current comparator bridge. A commercial capacitance bridge is used with two standard capacitors to determine the ratio error and phase displacement of a 10 kV and 30 kV reference voltage transformers. The bridge is calibrated in capacitance and dissipation factor and the standard capacitors are characterized in voltage and temperature. The measurements were carried out at LNE in a high voltage Faraday cage at power frequency (50 Hz) and for voltages going up to 120 % of the nominal voltages of the reference voltage transformers. An expanded uncertainty of 25 parts in 10-6 was estimated for the ratio error and 17 μrad for the phase displacement. In addition it was found a good agreement with the last calibration results made in 1981 which used resistive divider in a passive bridge.
