Catalogue system integration of China EO data for CWIC system

For integrating into CWIC system, this system is implemented comply with OGC standards: Catalogue Services for Web (CSW) and Geographic information - Metadata (ISO 19115). As the data centers are isolated from each other, this system is designed as a distributed one which has one mediator and many data center nodes. The mediator receives requests, distributes them and integrates all the responses from data center nodes back to the CWIC system; the nodes response the request, search and return corresponding results to the mediator. Different data center has different situation, so that there are two methods for retrieving data: one is accessing database directly and the other is calling an existed web service. We integrated two data centers in China, the experiment shows that the system can integrated to CWIC very well and it also can act as an independent catalog server to provide standard service to other clients.
