Abstract :
Based on computer generated channel models the performance of OFDM-, VSB and QAM-modulation for digital terrestrial broadcast TV transmission are compared. The main problem to be solved is the test under identical conditions of the different modulation schemes with a suitable software environment capable of simulating the properties of the channel and the modulations as closely as possible. Much of the paper is intended to provide an introductory review of the used transmission schemes and channel models, and how they are used in analysis. The multipath parts of our models rely for a great deal on the COST 207 multipath channel models
