Abstract :
Ningdong-Shandong ±660 kV DC Power Transmission Demonstration Project is the first ±660 kV DC transmission project built around the world. It is also the symbolic project at this voltage level and one of the major West-East Power Transmission projects built in China. This paper demonstrates the selection of transmission capacity, converter configuration and DC line conductors of the ±660 kV DC system, discusses the project characteristics, performance requirements, main circuit arrangement, insulation coordination, main equipment parameters and converter station arrangement scheme of Ningdong-Shandong ±660 kV DC Project. Also, it describes the demonstration of ±660 kV DC voltage level and the equipment localization as well as the implementation priorities of the technical scheme for the project.
