  • Abstract
In this work, the effectiveness of the generalized Chase-2 algorithm applied to unequal error protection block codes is evaluated using binary transmission over an additive white Gaussian noise channel. The performance of the generalized Chase-2 algorithm is compared to that of the maximum likelihood decoding algorithm and an analysis of the complexity-performance trade-off for each protection class is provided.
