Abstract :
In this paper a novel solution for controlling the DC current in the current-source active power filter is proposed. The suggested control scheme is based on hybrid DC filter structure which makes it possible to reduce the size of the DC filter inductor size to about 1-3% of conventional DC inductor size. The small inductance enables fast DC current control according to instantaneous DC current requirement. This way the average value of DC current and conducting losses of active filter can be minimized. The proposed control scheme is verified by simulations
