Abstract :
Fire is a universal disaster. It ruins property, costs lives. To avoid such catastrophe, it is pressing to take precautions against fires. With the fast development of information technology, GIS has become mature to serve as a public processing platform. Fire point recognizing and warning systems appeared one after another and have proved effective. However, they are all weak in mastering the change law about when and where the fire takes place. In this connection, the fire point recognizing and analyzing system emerged which is based on MODIS image and designed to find out the change law of time and space of fires. Taking advantage of MODIS image and NDTI fire point recognizing model, this system can recognize fires and at the same time analyze the collected data temporally and spatially to calculate the high fire rate period. In this way, the system cautions people about fires and reduces the risks of fires to some extent.
