Abstract :
A theoretical investigation of fast temporal evolution of whispering gallery modes (WGM) in circular resonators due to time changes in the refractive index of a small inclusion is presented. Mode splitting and frequency shifting are clearly observable. High-speed switching energies are also evaluated.
