Abstract
The spatial dynamics of the broad-area photonic crystal laser is investigated numerically. Single-mode photonic crystal structure is analysed. Gain guiding processes lead to spontaneous symmetry breaking. Formation of a complex transverse field distribution in photonic crystal laser is dependent on transverse distribution of pump.
