Abstract :
Opportunities of decreasing of near sidelobes level in flat transmitting antennas with star-shaped aperture are investigated. Change from circular aperture to star-shaped aperture with the same area is accompanied by insignificant narrowing of the main lobe of electromagnetic field angular distribution in the vicinity of receiving antenna. The first sidelobe level can be reduced from -17 dB in the case of usual circular aperture down to -30 dB and more at the star-shaped aperture. Unfortunately, the calculations do not confirm expected increase of power transfer ratio (PTR) between transmitting and receiving antennas. The physical explanation of this fact is given.
