Abstract
The calculated radiation patterns and gain of a parabolic cylinder excited by a linear array shaping the flat-topped element patterns are presented. It is shown that such an antenna provides better scanning performance with a smaller number of controlled elements and smaller overall antenna dimensions in comparison with recently proposed focus-based hybrid antennas.
