Abstract :
Recent developments of active microring resonator components, design and fabrication based on GalnAsP/InP are summarised. The technological challenges up to the implementation of vertical coupling by using wafer bonding and the potential for the realisation of laser sources, wavelength (de) multiplexers, dispersion compensators, wavelength converters, and logic functionalities are discussed.
