Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new beamforming vector selection criterion for transmit beamforming in multiple-input single-output (MISO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with codebook-based limited feedback. By dividing the total subcarriers into a series of clusters, from the codebook we choose the "proper" one, which directly minimizes the average bit error rate (BER) of the considered cluster, as the beamforming vector for this cluster. The simulation results show that the proposed beamforming vector selection criterion surpasses other approaches based on indirect performance indicators in [5-7] in terms of the uncoded BER performance.
