Abstract :
The author presents advanced applications for cordless telecommunications, clarifies the differences between cordless telecommunications and mobile radio, and outlines the steps towards European standardization which have been made so far, Professional applications such as business cordless telecommunications using the microcellular concept are discussed. It is shown that cordless telecommunication systems differ considerably in service requirements and market structure, with resulting differences in the technical realization of systems
