Abstract
A novel approach to temporal information processing in the cerebellum is presented. Processing in the cerebellum is treated as a form of spatiotemporal correlation and is proposed to be based on ion channel kinetics in cerebellar neurons. In order to illustrate the approach, simulations are presented showing good temporal processing. A novel mechanism for temporal learning is also described, which may apply in the cerebellum and elsewhere in the brain
