Abstract :
This paper evaluates the performance of the Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Direct Torque Control - Space Vector Modulation (DTC-SVM) for the Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM). Both methods are compared to Field Oriented Control (FOC) with respect to output torque ripple, phase current - total harmonic distortion (THD) and electromagnetic torque dynamics of the motor based on simulations in Matlab/Simulink.
